Hopping mad for charity
The team will take part in a challenge to spend 20 hours bouncing on space hoppers on from 4pm on Friday 14th November 2014 outside the ESPC showroom at 85 George Street. The event is in support of CCLASP’s “Give us 20” campaign celebrating its 20th year anniversary.
You can see how some of the team are getting on in training for this charity challenge!
Set up in 1994 by Valerie Simpson and her husband Bill, CCLASP has spent two decades providing support to children and groups of families, helping them to express and share the feelings, anxieties and the horror of having a child with a life threatening illness.
CCLASP, based in Edinburgh, supports in excess of 500 families and has spent many years building up relationships with other like-minded charities so as to access much needed resources for sick children and their families: whether it be transport to hospitals, holidays or a special wish from a child.
David Marshall is Business Development Manager at ESPC, he said, “The 20 hour Hop-a-Thon is going to be a tough challenge but we’re determined to complete it as it’s nothing like as tough as the experiences families supported by CCLASP have to face on a daily basis.
“Val and her team work so hard and really go above and beyond to help support hundreds of families going through a truly traumatic experience and so it’s imperative they have the appropriate facilities and environment to do this.
“As property experts we are fully aware of the importance of a good home, that’s we’ve chosen to do as much as we can to help CCLASP reach their goal of building a new and bigger centre so they can continue to provide services for many more years to come.”
