About Thornhill

Around 30 minutes north of Dumfries by road, and 1.5 hours south from both Glasgow and Edinburgh lies Thornhill, and attractive large village of around 2,000 residents. The main street’s wide, tree-lined streets are home to a variety of independent business, including a chocolatier, gift shops and a bakers. Closeby is the stunning Drumlanrig Castle and its 90,000 acre estate, offering the perfect retreat for walkers, runners and cyclists. Thornhill has its own secondary school, the highly-regarded Wallace Hall Academy.
