Moniaive is a picturesque village in Nithsdale, popular with young creatives and families. Around 15 miles northwest of Dumfries and 7 miles west of Thornill, Moniaive has a thriving artistic community. It’s home to many artists, musicians and writers, and hosts a plethora of festivals every year, earning itself the moniker of ‘Moniaive Festival Village’. In 2004, Moniaive was described by The Times as one of the ‘coolest’ villages in Britain, and there’s certainly plenty of things to see and do in the village, whether you’re into arts and crafts, food and drink, or exploring the great outdoors.
