About Kelloholm
Kelloholm is a small village at the head of Nithsdale, of roughly 2,000 people. It was built to serve the nearby coal mines in the early 20th century, and although these have now all closed, the area, along with neighbouring Kirkconnel, is undergoing regeneration, and it has retained a strong community spirit. Kelloholm Primary School serves the village, and transport to both Glasgow and Dumfries is made easy with nearby Kirkconnel railway station.
