Sitting within the area of Annandale & Eskdale, Annan is the perfect base for commuting to either Dumfries or Cumbria, as it’s just eight miles from the English border and is well-served by regular trains both north and south. Annan has strong historical links, showcased by the statue of Robert the Bruce in the town’s centre, and the site of the first savings bank in nearby Ruthwell. Annan is also a great location for nature lovers, with the River Annan running through the town, and the beautiful Victorian beachfront village of Powfoot nearby.
